Q.
What is the true story on the rumors about Johan molds?
A. Several molds have pieces
missing and or damaged. We were told by many former Jo-Han
employees, that disgruntled employees took mold pieces out of
the building to sell for scrap. Johan intends to repair or
restore as many of these old molds as possible..
Q. When can we get the '72 Torino?,
'64 Rambler Classic, '70 Superbird, '62 Studebaker, '59 Fury,
..etc.
A. Please be patient. Tools will be
repaired as time allows. Some tools are more complete than
others, which will obviously factor in. Also the marketability
of a restored tool has to be weighed against the cost of
restoration.
Q. Who built those gorgeous box art
models?
A. 1956 Olds- Nark Keesee; 1964
Turbine Car, Stacy Cheeks; 1959 Rambler wagon- Jace C.Jordan;
1956 Pontiac- painted by Jace Jordan, foiled by Tim Klien; 1931
Cadillac cabriolet- Al Hoffman; 1935 Mercedes hot rod
Q. When will the 3in1 kits be
available?
A. We do not officially announce release dates in order to avoid
disappointment if there are
unexpected delays.
Q. Are there any new tools in the
works?
A. An all new tool would be a major
investment in both time and money. We are exploring creative
ways of financing new tools. New tools are at least 3 years away.
We are working on alliances with several companies that will put
Johan in niche markets it's never been in before.
Q. I like the new logo, but what
does it mean?
A. We wanted modelers to know that
we are a new company with a new vision, while retaining
familiarity and accuracy of the old Jo-Han. We dropped the
hyphen because it was confusing people. Bright AMC Big Bad Green
and Charcoal Gray are now the official Johan colors because,
like AMC, Johan is an underdog. Besides, I like AMC.
